The November 2025 issue of ISMR is now online at https://joom.ag/efDd
A range of new product, technology and software innovations were launched at the 10th Schweisstec international trade fair for joining technology and 17th Blechexpo international trade fair for sheet metalworking in Stuttgart, Germany (21-24 October 2025). ISMR was an international media partner at the event and, as well as interviewing manufacturers at the show, distributed its October issue at the show entrances. Read our full show report on page 18.
In this issue of ISMR, we also review the sheet metal industry in 2025 by interviewing a variety of global manufacturers at Blechexpo/Schweisstec on their views of this year as well as their plans, projects and market forecasts for 2026. You can read their responses throughout this issue of ISMR as they navigate global geopolitical and market challenges (such as tariffs), successes and achievements to keep meeting customer expectations. On the way, they highlight new technology and product innovations; areas of growth; productive processes; the latest market developments and various strategic pathways to success.
This issue of ISMR also places a special focus on tooling, inspection, waterjet cutting and surface finishing. Don’t forget to read our research news section on page 16 for the latest news on worldwide collaborative projects. Global HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) markets for manufacturers are analysed on page 26. Economic forecasts; shifts; trends and opportunities in Spain for manufacturers are presented in our regional report on page 42 of this issue.
Nesting, as a key enabler of performance, is highlighted in our CAD/CAM feature on page 46. We also preview the SteelFab show in Sharjah, UAE (page 38), and the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics exhibition in the UK (page 58). A new technique that could open the door to wider friction stir welding operations in general manufacturing comes under the spotlight on page 62.
