Fagor Arrasate, a specialist in the design, manufacture and supply of cutting and forming lines, will supply a high-performance cut-to-length line (CTL) to the steel company Severstal, Russia's main steel producer and one of the largest in the world.
“The CTL is fully automated through the complete process of unwinding, levelling, cutting and electromagnetic stacking. It is equipped with the latest sensor technology for measuring flatness and surface quality. This is one of the most technologically advanced coil equipment lines installed in Russia due to its high levels of productivity and high-quality standards in surface finishing, levelling, cutting quality and unmarked stacking,” Fagor Arrasate told ISMR.
The line will process surface critical material. The CTL developed by Fagor Arrasate for Severstal will supply skin parts to the main OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in the automotive sector in Russia. The line can process materials from 0.25 to 4.0mm thickness, in high strength and advanced high strength materials. It includes a rotary shear (which does not require a looping pit) and a cassette-type leveller.
Fagor Arrasate has a strong presence in Russia, where it has a sales office and has supplied over 40 coil finishing lines. It recently exhibited at the MetalExpo exhibition in Moscow, Russia, from 12-15 November 2019.
