Happy New Year from the ISMR team, with all our very best wishes for 2024!

In the December 2023/January 2024 issue of ISMR (https://joom.ag/yond), we examine the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications for manufacturing and highlight a new ‘open access’ factory model, rooted in the sustainable sharing economy. Global aerospace markets for manufacturers are analysed on page 16. Economic forecasts; shifts; trends and opportunities across Latin America for manufacturers are also presented in our regional report on page 24.

Don’t forget to read our new research news section on page 14, with the latest global technology initiatives. Sustainable materials, plasma cutting and roll forming also come under the spotlight in this issue.

This issue of ISMR will be distributed at the SteelFab exhibition in Sharjah, UAE, from 8-11 January 2024 and Southern Manufacturing & Electronics in Farnborough, UK (6-8 February 2024).

Despite headwinds in 2023 such as supply chain issues; skyrocketing energy prices; Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and rising inflation levels, the global sheet metal industry has shown itself to be responsive, dynamic and flexible. It continues to innovate and focus on improving productivity and processes, embracing new technologies and strategies for success.

ISMR is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year! We have plenty of plans to commemorate this milestone anniversary and would like to thank our readers, supporters and advertisers for being such a key part of our journey.
