New automated UHSS slitting line for SSAB

Fagor Arrasate, a specialist in the design and manufacture of slitting and cut-to-length lines, will supply a complete fully automated slitting line for Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) to SSAB, one of the world's leading steel companies. 

“With a speed of 150m/min, the line can process the most resistant steels, with high yield strength (1500N/mm2), with coils of up to 6mm thick and 1550mm wide. Quick change of the cutting tools and position of the separators is carried out automatically. This shortens machine set-up times and reduces manual operations, improving ergonomics and safety for operators. The equipment also has a scraper to revalue surplus scrap,” said Jon Zubillaga, Sales Director for Central Europe, Fagor Arrasate.
