Read the May 2024 issue of ISMR on https://joom.ag/Q1kd - it will be distributed at at BIEMH in Spain as well as ITM INDUSTRY EUROPE in Poland. In this issue, we highlight market forecasts, latest trends and speed of adoption for industrial robotics worldwide (page 18). Industry 4.0 has accelerated the development of new technologies such as AI-enabled robots and collaborative robots. The spotlight is very firmly on artificial intelligence (AI) for manufacturing in this issue, as ISMR flew to Germany to discover the latest AI developments from sheet metal specialist, TRUMPF, and visit its INTECH exhibition this April (see page 30).

We also outline growth drivers, trends and challenges in global construction markets for manufacturers (page 26) as well as funding opportunities for manufacturers in Poland (page 36). CAD/CAM takes centre stage as Alma’s Emmanuel Monnet tells ISMR how new software innovations, and Cloud models, will benefit sheet metal and tube manufacturers now and in the future (page 40). Don’t forget to read our research news section on page 16, with the latest new and collaborative worldwide initiatives.

Andy Harrison explains how hot-dip galvanizing has become one of the most popular finishes for protecting and preserving steel on page 46. We also highlight waterjet cutting in this issue with a selection of new global waterjet cutting innovations for manufacturers on page 50. Laser cutting from coil, additive manufacturing and plasma cutting also come under the spotlight in this issue.

We are very pleased and proud to celebrate ISMR’s 25th anniversary this year. We wish to celebrate this milestone event with our readers, supporters and advertisers and would like to thank you all for your support over the years. Please email any memories or particular highlights that illustrate sheet metal’s evolution over the years along with your industry views and key milestones to us on ismr.magazine@in2publishing.co.uk
