In the November issue of ISMR (https://joom.ag/ztnd), we review the sheet metal industry in 2023 by interviewing a variety of global manufacturers on their view of markets, trends and new technologies as well as plans, projects, new investments and forecasts for 2024. You can read their responses throughout this issue of ISMR as they navigate challenges such as high inflation and soaring energy costs to keep meeting customer expectations. On the way, they highlight growth opportunities; new product and software launches; the latest technology innovations; more efficient and time-saving processes and various strategic pathways to success.

This issue of ISMR also places a special focus on waterjet cutting, digitalisation and punching. Global HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) markets for manufacturers are analysed on page 28. Economic forecasts; shifts; trends and opportunities across MENA (Middle East and North Africa) markets for manufacturers are presented in our regional report on page 40. We also outline the benefits of industrial adhesives and sealants for a wide range of metallic joining applications on page 54. Tooling, bending and laser cutting from coil also come under the spotlight in this issue.

We were delighted to see a range of new product, technology and software launches at the recent Blechexpo/Schweisstec trade show in Stuttgart, Germany, from 7-10 November 2023. The latest sheet metal, pipe and profile processing; cutting; joining; forming and welding technology developments were showcased at the event. As the international media partner for the event, ISMR had a stand in Hall One and copies of its October issue were given out at the show entrances. Read our full show review on page 15 of this issue.

ISMR will be celebrating its 25th anniversary next year! We have plenty of plans to celebrate and commemorate this milestone event next year and would like to thank our readers, supporters and advertisers for being such a key part of our journey.
