Messe Düsseldorf postpones wire and Tube Düsseldorf 2020

Messe Düsseldorf GmbH has postponed the international trade fairs for the wire, cable, tube and pipe industries – ‘wire and Tube Düsseldorf’ – to 7-11 December 2020. This is in response to the latest coronavirus (COVID-19/Sars-CoV-2) developments. The shows were due to take place at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre in Germany from 30 March to 3 April 2020 to present the latest machinery and equipment for wire and tube manufacturing; finishing and processing; finished products and services.

“In doing so, we are following the recommendation of the German government’s crisis management team to take into account the principles of the Robert Koch Institute when making a risk assessment of major events. On the basis of this recommendation, and the recent significant increase in the number of infected people (including in Europe), we have reassessed the situation. Added to this is the uncertainty of numerous exhibitors and visitors at the events in March and the complicated travel situation, especially for international customers,” said Messe Düsseldorf GmbH.

"This decision was not an easy one for all concerned," explained Thomas Geisel, Lord Mayor of the City of Düsseldorf and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH. "But the postponements, at the present time, are necessary for Messe Düsseldorf and its customers in view of increasingly dynamic developments.”
