Don’t miss the December 2021/January 2022 issue of International Sheet Metal Review on https://joom.ag/MTBI

It is such a pleasure to be part of this vibrant, innovative and agile industry. We would like to extend our thanks and best wishes to all our readers, advertisers and supporters and hope that 2022 proves to be a happy and successful year for you.

In the December 2021/January 2022 issue of ISMR, we interviewed several international sheet metal machine tool manufacturers for their analysis of global markets, industry trends, new product/R&D developments and forecasts for 2022. We analyse connected manufacturing and the smart factory (page 14) and outline drivers, trends and forecasts for global commercial aerospace markets (page 18).  You can uncover a selection of the latest global fibre laser cutting innovations on page 50.  We also preview the Southern Manufacturing exhibition in the UK (page 26) and the new TIMTOS x TMTS 2022 machine tool show in Taiwan (page 42).

The global COVID-19 pandemic set new challenges for sheet metal manufacturers in 2021 as they grappled with the effects of lockdown, supply chain disruption and material/labour shortages. However, it has also unlocked waves of innovation as many turned to automation and technology to fill gaps and keep their customers satisfied. New collaborative working, training and machine installation processes are the result, supported by information technology, with many manufacturers further exploring the benefits of connected manufacturing. Despite the challenges, sheet metal manufacturers have responded with alacrity and flexibility, finding new ways to collaborate and innovate wherever possible.

Our 2022 digital media pack is online at https://www.ismr.co.uk/advertise   Please feel free to email [email protected] if you have any products/services, webinars or podcasts to promote, or [email protected] for any editorial submissions.

International Sheet Metal Review is the leading international sheet metal forming and fabrication journal, published ten times per year, and reaches key decision-makers (OEMs, subcontract job shops, Tier suppliers) in major end-user sectors such as automotive, aerospace, construction, general engineering, electronics etc.
