LVD stormed into October’s EuroBLECH sheet metal exhibition in Hanover with new productivity solutions for smart manufacturing, such as a new entry-level fibre laser cutting solution, bending automation, folding and software technology.

LVD Company NV is a leading manufacturer of sheet metal-working equipment including laser cutting systems; punch presses; press brakes; automatic and semi-automatic panel benders; guillotine shears and automation systems, integrated to and supported by its CADMAN® software suite. Its Industry 4.0-ready products and technology are geared towards smart manufacturing.

It was named a 2024 winner of ‘Belgium’s Best Managed Companies’ Platinum designation awarded by Deloitte Private, Econopolis and KU Leuven. LVD has achieved Platinum level status after seven consecutive years as a ‘Best Managed Companies’ award winner.

The Belgian sheet metal specialist stormed into this October’s EuroBLECH sheet metal exhibition in Hanover with new productivity solutions for smart manufacturing. Aligned with the EuroBLECH motto, ‘The Power of Productivity’, LVD’s booth showcased 20kW fibre laser cutting, bending automation, folding and software technology. This included a new entry-level fibre laser cutting system; a high-tonnage Easy-Form press brake; an Easy-Cell robotic bending cell; a fully automatic panel bender and its latest CADMAN® sheet metal software.

ISMR watched a range of equipment and software demonstrations on the LVD booth in Hanover, enjoying a tour of its latest new innovations with LVD Group Marketing Director, Matthew Fowles.

Laser cutting in focus

“We unveiled our new LaserTWO fiber laser cutting machine, offering low investment and operating costs, at EuroBLECH. An ultra-practical machine, it provides reliable cutting minus costly extra features. The new laser is available in three configurations to meet price/performance needs and deliver what we believe is the lowest cost per part manufacturing,” LVD told ISMR.

The LaserTWO is a modular-design, laser cutting machine offering cutting in a flexible format in three configurations. It enables users to build from a basic machine without covers to a fully enclosed unit with shuttle tables to meet varying price/performance requirements.

LaserTWO has a sheet size format of 3050 x 1525mm and is offered with a 3-, 6- or 12kW laser source. It is equipped with an NC Focus cutting head featuring a 200mm auto focusing lens, capacitive height sensor and crash protection, and can process a wide variety of materials and thicknesses.

LVD also demonstrated the diversity of its laser cutting technology at the exhibition by using a LaserCUBE. This compact demonstration unit features high-power 20kW cutting; bevel cutting at a maximum bevel angle of 50 degrees; mixed gas cutting and 19” Touch-L control. ISMR  watched it showcase smart cutting on the LVD stand with bevel cutting; nano joints and mixed  gas cutting.

“The LaserCUBE is a demonstration unit, a 20kW source with a bevel head that can cut up to 40mm thick material with a 50mm bevel. It is a way for us to showcase all our high-end laser cutting technologies on a small demonstration unit at EuroBLECH,” Matt Fowles confirmed.

Flexible bending systems

The Easy-Form 9 400/40 press brake was the largest, high-tonnage press brake that LVD had ever exhibited at EuroBLECH. The 400-ton machine is floor mounted, with no foundation required. It featured a six-axis modular back gauge for high application versatility and a total of ten axes for bending large and long parts.
