TIMTOS highlights journey to Net Zero

The Taipei International Machine Tool Show, widely known as TIMTOS, will be held from 6-11 March 2023 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Centre (Halls 1/2 and TWTC Hall 1). With 1,000+ exhibitors in nearly 6,200 booths, on an even larger scale than last year, TIMTOS 2023 is one of the leading machine-tool trade shows in the world.

Business aviation pledges net-zero carbon by 2050

Business aviation leaders have pledged to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050 as they expanded on a set of bold climate commitments made a decade ago, marking the latest in a string of new sustainability announcements at their main event of the year.

Decarbonising steel – a net-zero pathway

Steel production could be achieved with almost no carbon emissions via US$ 278 billion of extra investment by 2050, according to a new report from research firm BloombergNEF. Hydrogen and recycling are likely to play a central role in reducing emissions from steel production. Steel is responsible for around 7% of man-made greenhouse gas emissions every year and is one of the world’s most polluting industries.

SteelZero initiative for clean steelmaking

SteelZero, a global initiative aimed at driving market demand for net zero steel, launched recently with support from eight major steel buyers and specifiers from across sectors (including construction and renewable energy). This marks the beginning of a significant global business push for clean steel.
