In response to the surging pandemic, the organisers of TIMTOS 2021 (due to take place in Taipei, Taiwan) have decided to postpone the physical exhibition. Nonetheless, TIMTOS 2021 Online (15-20 March 2021) will continue as scheduled to serve exhibitors and buyers worldwide.

“The announcement comes after the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control stressed that if it is impossible to maintain social distancing among attendees, it is strongly recommended that event organisers cancel or postpone large gatherings. The physical show is therefore being postponed to protect the health of exhibitors and visitors in compliance with government guidance,” show organisers, TAMI and TAITRA, told ISMR.

Nearly 1,000 exhibitors will participate in TIMTOS 2021 Online, with machine tool manufacturers presenting their latest products. Over the last year, the show organisers have held seminars and workshops, and recorded tutorials to actively promote this new type of exhibition.

“Exhibitors can use 3D, VR and videos to display their latest products, and connect with global buyers through online procurement conferences, online real-time matching, video conferences and more. Industry fora and factory tours will also be held to overcome time and space restrictions and enhance the benefits of the exhibition,” added TAMI.

TIMTOS 2021 Online (online.timtos.com.tw) will be launched as scheduled from 15-20 March 2021 with display and browse functions remaining effective from 21 March to 15 April 2021. Thereafter, TIMTOS’s official website will continue to offer an online service throughout the year.
